Dr.M.R.Raju

: Apart from renowned trustees who are reputed doctors Dr. M.R.Raju managing trustee is an internationally known scientist. In the field of radiation and cancer published more than 125 research papers published in various scientific journals and the author of the book “Heavy Particle Radiotherapy” published by the Academic Press. He is associated with many pioneering Research Institutions, such as M.I.T, Lawrence Radiation Laboratory-Berkeley, Los Alamos national laboratory, and Massachusetts General hospital . Dr.Raju and founder trustee Mrs.Subadra Devi raju spending most of their time in India to expand the activities of the trust. Mr.Raju is also the Secretary for West Godavari District Cancer control programme. In the jurisdiction of National Cancer control programme.

In Bimavaram town there are some social service organizations are doing yeoman service in the field of health and hygiene, education, protected drinking water, village reconstruction and rural development.

The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical Trust (MGMMT) is one among them.
MGMMT : The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to serve the needs of rural poor and needy in West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh was registered in 1976 as a public trust, named after Mahatma Gandhi the leader of Indian freedom movement. The trust is committed to Gandhian principles of self- reliance, non-violence and compassionate understanding as keys in bringing about social change, and to work towards a higher quality of village life in Modern India.

Mission; The mission of MGMMT is a continue Mahatma Gandhi’s principles and his vision.

Facilities: Health and educational infrastructure including a cancer treatment center supported by generous support of founder trustee, trustees, friends and family.

The MGMMT rural medical center located at Pedamiram (Adjacent to Bhimavaram Town) . The medical center is situated at 5 acres of land donated by the founder Mrs. Subadra Devi raju. The medical center has 15000; Sq.feet of built place consists of 20 Beds, an operation room, a library, meeting hall and other offices. There is also an eye care hospital adjacent to the main building with additional 20 Beds. Waiting room, wheel chair ramp, nurses quarters have been recently constructed. An International cancer research and treatment center is currently under progress.

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical Trust is offering cancer treatment, eye care, cataract operations free of cost to the poor and needy. The services are widely appreciated home and abroad. Hon’ble his Excellency Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam former president of India personally visited MGMMT and appreciated its dedicated selfless services.
